if few people take more than 6, it matters because we know from personal testimony that they're doing that because they're afraid of losing their jobs. if few people are actually disciplined, we still know how that it's making lots of people not take much-needed sick time.Permalink On twitter.com

In the first case, the statement is meaningless because people would take more if they felt safe. And in the second, it just means they're causing their employees unnecessary stress on top of illness/childcare/etc. And again, people STILL aren't taking them, from fear.On twitter.com

it doesn't make a policy less abusive if you only follow through sometimes. It is infuriating and heartbreaking how they treated LaTanya Jenkins when she was fighting for her life.
