      and then also the time I turned up the heat because my MIL was visiting and it turned out there was a dead mouse behind the couch she was sleeping on... and that speeded up decay.

          anyway, I'm now an expert on dead mouse smell and ... yep, we had another one tonight. behind a built-in bookshelf... we didn't know there was a ... behind. that took a day. 😭
