  1. Working through a professional society's obituary of one of our entomologists as I flesh out his wikidata record a bit... ran across this bit "because of his religion, he was not allowed to pursue a PhD" (ca WWII) ...does the obit say his religion? No!

      This could be read two ways -- one might be that he was excluded from PhD programs because of his religion. Though he'd been at UC Berkeley for Bachelor's and Master's. The other being that it was ok to do a Master's but not a PhD? Is there a religion that bars those?
