The above ^^^^^ was a great read and now I'm reading everyone's quote-tweets/replies and eating popcorn with Old Bay seasoning on it, using chopsticks. At minimum my youngest great-grandma would recognize this snack :P

phew, replies to these tweets reminded me that my grandfather's mother ... put my preteen granddad in an orphanage during the great depression and all he ate every day were peanut butter sandwiches (per his stories). My Nana was widowed with 3 kids and... yeah.

(my grandfather's mother could only afford to feed the girls and she figured the boys could look out for each other and would be fed in the boys home -- and it worked out in that everybody survived... which was the goal)
