      1. It's just an interesting intellectual problem to write expectation tests for a catalog, which is a body of records representing an ever-changing collection. For example, if we ever buy "Phenomenological Gateway to Reality," this one test will start failing.

      We could never give a solid count of how many items a subject search should return, just that X, Y, and Z record IDs should be among the record IDs returned.

    We can't be sure e-resource records will be stable in the way that we need for these tests, so those are pretty much just out. We also might weed an item, so that kind of thing we'll just have to take as it comes.
